The TM and I spent this past weekend in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin for my old friend TJ's wedding to his high school sweeatheart (I know!), Kim. It was an awesome time full of reconnecting with folks I hadn't heard from in years, meeting new folks, and checking out another cool town (blog on the way).

This is not what I wish to discuss today...

Today I wish to discuss the most retarded thing I've heard about in quite a long time...

I won't go into the whole long background on how this even came up, but needless to say when there are brides wearing dresses and going to the bathroom for long amounts of time, the logistics of the dress and the mechanics of going to the bathroom are discussed. I mean... what would YOU be talking about? But then, after a short time, someone at the table brought up something that I have to believe is a myth...

Bridal Diapers.

Apparently someone decided that getting out of a wedding dress is just simply too time consuming, and the demands of the wedding guests are just far too great to take an extra 5 (or even 15 minutes), and instead... on the greatest day of their lives, those classy, white-clad blushing brides are just gonna have to pee in their pants.

How can this possibly be true?

I admit that I've not done a lot of research. The Google search I ran came up with a bunch of stories from a couple of months ago, both about the diapers, and about how the diapers were possibly a myth. I didn't find them as a product... Let me say one thing..

I hope to all that is holy that this is not true. That this is some weird, made-up thing that some bride joked about wishing they had a convenient plastic sack wrapped around their crotch to save them precious time tinkling. A joke. Please let it be a joke.

No better way to ruin the mood on the wedding night than lifting up the bustles and trusses and petticoats and finding a soggy pair of plastic underpants. Who knows... maybe some people would like that.

RAMS (Sam Bradford is a good player. Suh will ultimately be better, but YOU HAVE TO TAKE A QUARTERBa..... sorry... I can't even pretend. Bradford was the right pick if Suh and G. McCoy didn't exist, but they do, so...)

Man... Chris Henry died this morning. That's just about the saddest thing ever. I am actually surprised by how sad I find the whole thing to be. I don't know if i'm going to write about it or not, but I've got stuff to say about it, probably. Either way, RIP Slim.

Yawn... Football Time

Look... I'm sorry. I keep meaning to write, but I'm busy! I think I sort of burned myself out a little with the Disney blogs, which is okay...because that was totally fun and worth it, but that was also a lot of damned work!

Anyway, I plan on putting up at least something non-football this week.

Until I do though, my record last week was a respectable 9 and 4, bringing my overall record to 88 -41. Not bad at all.

A Triumphant Return... to Picking Football Games

Hello!

I'm getting ready to come out of my great big blogging break with a couple of blogs... One about the Top 5 things about my Disney trip (not including the Tofu Muchacha who would hold all 5 spots), the Top 5 things that drive me crazy while I'm trying to enjoy Disney, and an intro to my NaNoWriMo project.

Until then, though, we're going to have to settle for a football picks blog. Last week, in my absense, I went 8 and 5, and 2 weeks ago I went 8 and 6, so now my record is 71 -32. Still pretty good.

Does Mickey Mouse Play Football?

So... not a Disney post! AMAZING!

Of course, it's only my football picks post, so... nothing TOO exciting, but here it is anyway.

In case anyone is wondering, my pending divorce with the Bengals is still on, despite the very exciting game last week, and I'm feeling good about that decision. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them shutting the Steelers up for once, but I thankfully barely got worked up throughout the entire game where they looked like utter garbage. It was freeing. I realize I relinquish any right to be overly excited if they do well, but even in that game the bad outweighed the good. Let's be honest... they're not winning the Super Bowl any time soon. I think my choice is solid.

Last week I went 11-5 again.
For the season, I'm now 33-15, which is probably my best 3 week start in the 5 years I've been doing this. Well done me!

Football picks time.

Last week I went...11 and 5. Not a bad way to start.

I have a plan to write a Bengals blog about what happened last weekend with the Broncos, so I'll leave those thoughts for then. I've had a breakthrough.

Here we go...

Patriots over Jets - I love how everyone is so worried about the Pats all of a sudden. I mean... Tom Brady can't have a little rust? Well, I'm not buying.

Saints over Eagles - My favorite team killed it last week. Drew Brees is a man.

Redskins over Rams - The reason I told you to not ask me why I liked the Rams as the sleeper team this year is because I was, for some reason on crack.

Jaguars over Cardinals - I've been reading about how the Cardinals can't win East of the Mississippi. I guess I'll go with that this once... but for the record, I'm on the fence.

Falcons over Panthers - Okay... so Delhomme I like, and there won't be another egg laid like last week, but Matt Ryan and the Falcons are too good.

Vikings over Lions - Favre pisses me off. The Wrangler jeans commercials have convinced me to never buy them. Thanks Brett.

Packers over Bengals - I can't talk about it.

Titans over Texans - Andre Johnson huh? We'll see I guess.

Raiders over Chiefs - The Raiders are intriguing. I wonder if there's a precedent for a team being so insanely run that they happen upon being good.... The New York Mets?

Bills over Bucs - I dunno.

Niners over Seahawks - Yeah... I flipped a coin on this one.

Ravens over Chargers - I used to be able to rely on the Ravens having a terrible offense. It was comforting. Flacco ruins that.

Bears over Steelers - Maybe I'm just hoping.

Broncos over Browns - The Broncos are not a team of destiny. Don't let the miracle play fool you. That was all about the Bengals.

Cowboys over Giants - I'm with Bill Simmons on this one. I absolutely CAN NOT wait for the giant screen to get hit over and over.

Colts over Dolphins - I have nothing to say about this one.
